Weapon combat at CFC Villach

Weapon combat in Villach & Carinthia – FMA & HEMA at CFC Die Kampfkunstschule.

Weapon combat at CFC in Villach is not a niche add-on but a dedicated area of training – unique in this breadth across Carinthia. We combine two strong traditions: the Filipino martial arts (FMA – Eskrima, Arnis, Kali) and the historical European martial arts (HEMA – longsword, rapier, saber). Both train distance, timing, perception and precision – each in its own way. You can focus on one path or explore both with Headcoach Erich Ferlesch in Villach.

Two paths, one goal

FMA – Filipino Martial Arts

Filipino weapon arts: stick, knife and the unarmed systems Panantukan and Dumog. Movement principles start with the weapon and transfer to empty hand and blade.

  • Eskrima, Arnis & Kali – structured and hands-on
  • Baraw (knife work), Panantukan, Dumog
  • Equipment provided at the start

HEMA – European Martial Arts

Historical European fencing: German longsword, rapier and saber. HEMA sharpens distance control, tactics and precision – from the historical treatises straight into the modern training hall.

  • Longsword based on the historical sources
  • Rapier & saber – Europe's blade culture
  • Clean technical foundation, no showmanship

Why offer both at CFC?

FMA and HEMA complement each other beautifully: the Filipino arts deliver reaction, flow and intuitive handling of short weapons. HEMA brings structured distance work, precision and deep historical knowledge with the long blade. Combined, they create a full understanding of weapon, distance and timing – clean, focused and without theatrics.

Not sure which path fits you?

No problem – we'll advise you in a personal first contact and figure out together whether stick, knife or sword is your way.
