CFC Die Kampfkunstschule in Villach

Structured training in close combat, martial arts and weapon work in Villach

Training at CFC Die Kampfkunstschule covers the three core areas Wing Chun, FMA – Filipino Martial Arts (Eskrima, Arnis, Kali) and HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts. Close combat and self-defense are CFC's specialisation; combat sports/striking is a complementary offering. It is not a martial art or fighting style of its own.

We do not claim to have invented a new martial art. The strength of the training at CFC lies in how the content is organized, taught and developed over the years.

CFC is the center for close combat & self-defense in Villach. Training at CFC Die Kampfkunstschule covers the three core areas Wing Chun, FMA – Filipino Martial Arts and HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts. The training is led personally by Sifu Erich Ferlesch, with martial arts experience since 1990.

How the areas fit together

Wing Chun, FMA – Filipino Martial Arts and HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts are the three equal core styles at CFC Die Kampfkunstschule. Close combat and self-defense are CFC's specialisation; combat sports/striking is a complementary offering.

The three core styles and complementary areas

The areas do not sit side by side in isolation – they complement each other and connect in every session.

Self-defense & tactical close combat

CFC's specialisation: practical self-defense and close combat in Villach, trained under pressure and without showmanship.

  • Distance
  • Movement
  • Timing
  • Strikes
  • Kicks
  • Throws
  • Joint locks
  • Ground fighting
  • Tactical behaviour
  • Training under pressure

Martial arts

The three equal core styles: clear structure, practical principles and a precise understanding of movement.

  • Wing Chun
  • FMA – Filipino Martial Arts
  • HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts

Weapon combat

Stick and blade work sharpen distance control, perception and precision – and form the basis for realistic weapon defense.

  • FMA – Eskrima, Arnis, Kali
  • HEMA – historical fencing

Combat sports training

Physical development as the base: strength, conditioning and striking technique – with no obligation to compete.

  • Striking power
  • Power striking work
  • Fitness boxing

Together this forms a training path that covers every phase of a real confrontation – from distance to the ground.

From beginner to experienced practitioner

A beginner does not need all the information at once. The training builds up step by step, so each stage is solid before the next one is added.

  1. 01Understand the fundamentals
  2. 02Learn the techniques
  3. 03Develop movement and application
  4. 04Train under pressure
  5. 05Deepen your skills

The focus is on understanding – not on collecting as many techniques as possible.

Student development

Training at CFC Die Kampfkunstschule follows clearly defined levels. They show you where you stand and what comes next.

The full grading syllabus is covered in class and on the dedicated training page.

More than technique

A martial art that works is not just a set of movements. What matters is what happens between the techniques.

Grown out of decades of practice

CFC's structured training program grew out of Sifu Erich Ferlesch's decades of teaching practice and continues to be refined.

  • Martial arts since 1990
  • Wing Chun since 1995
  • Teaching since 1997
