Self-defense for kids in Villach (CFC Kids ages 5–13)

5,0 ★ Google · Villach

At CFC, children ages 5 to 13 – CFC Minis (5–8) and CFC Defenders (9–13) train in parallel – playfully build confidence, focus and respect. Taught in a child-friendly, safe setting – without aggression, but with plenty of joy in movement. Individual scheduling is arranged in the personal trial lesson. From age 14, teens transition seamlessly into the adult training (CFC Die Kampfkunstschule). Our Minis and Defenders share the mat at the same time. This is a pedagogical advantage and strengthens the group: the older kids learn responsibility and consideration, while the younger ones benefit from strong role models.

Values that last

We encourage children without overwhelming them. Beyond technique, it's mainly about respect, self-control and healthy confidence – values that reach far beyond the training hall.

Safety for your child

The hall is clean and child-friendly, the sessions orderly and disciplined. As a parent, you can trust that your child is in good hands.

Holistic development through kids martial arts in Villach

Choosing kids martial arts in Villach at CFC offers your offspring much more than just physical activity. At our school on Karawankenweg 13, we combine tradition with modern pedagogy. Sifu Erich Ferlesch uses his decades of experience to introduce young people to the principles of Wing Chun and FMA. The focus is not on competition, but on the development of a strong personality. Children here learn to set boundaries and meet challenges with calmness. Through targeted exercises, they improve their motor skills and concentration, which often has a positive effect on school performance.

Focus on concentration and coordination

In an era where digital media dominates everyday life, our training at CFC provides a valuable balance. The fluid movements of Wing Chun and the coordination exercises from FMA promote the networking of both hemispheres of the brain. Your child learns to focus on one thing and master complex movement patterns. This discipline transfers directly to other areas of life. We place great importance on children understanding that martial arts primarily serve to avoid conflict, and physical techniques are only used as a last resort in an emergency.

Social competence and respectful behavior

Respect is the cornerstone at CFC. In our groups, children learn respectful interaction with peers and adults. Sifu Erich Ferlesch imparts these values authentically through his many years of practice. A mindful togetherness ensures that every child feels safe and accepted. Through the joint practice of self-defense techniques, a strong sense of community is created. Your child experiences that strength has nothing to do with aggression, but with inner serenity and the ability to take responsibility for their own actions. This social maturation process is an essential part of our teaching concept.

Anti-bullying focus: strong against exclusion

Bullying often starts with words and body language – not with punches. That is exactly where our kids' training in Villach and across Carinthia begins. Your child learns to appear confident, set clear boundaries and de-escalate conflicts early, before they escalate. A child who stands securely, speaks calmly and holds eye contact is far less likely to become a target of bullying. Should things ever get serious, your child has simple, age-appropriate self-defense techniques to fall back on. We do not train aggression, but inner strength and the confidence to act – so your child can hold their ground at school, on the way there and in everyday life.

Frequently asked questions about kids' training

From what age can my child start?

At CFC Kids all children ages 5 to 13 train together in one group – age-appropriately differentiated. The mixed-age approach has proven itself pedagogically. From age 14, they train directly in the adult classes.

Are there belt gradings?

Yes. Twice a year there is a grading with belt award and certificate.

How does my child benefit from training in everyday life?

Your child will grow up in a safe environment where cooperation is more important than rivalry. Through training with Sifu Erich Ferlesch, they learn to recognize dangers early and defuse them through clear body language. This practical self-defense permanently strengthens their presence in everyday life.

What equipment is needed to start?

For the first trial session at Karawankenweg 13 in Villach, comfortable sportswear is perfectly sufficient. We train in clean non-slip socks – we do not use indoor shoes. A water bottle is recommended. If your child joins the classes permanently, we will be happy to advise you on the appropriate equipment for Wing Chun and FMA.

Does the training help against bullying?

Yes, this is a core focus of our kids' training in Villach and Carinthia. Your child learns to appear confident, set clear boundaries and de-escalate conflicts – often a secure posture alone is enough to avoid becoming a target in the first place. For emergencies, we also teach simple, age-appropriate self-defense techniques. The goal is inner strength and the confidence to act, not aggression.

Does my child already need to be athletic or fit?

No, special previous athletic skills are not required. Our program for children is structured so that every child – regardless of their current fitness level – is encouraged individually. Joining kids martial arts in Villach is possible at any time and focuses on your child's personal progress.
